If you upgrade to Snow Leopard & coreaudiod is using all your RAM, user@computer:$ sudo mv /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.audio.coreaudiod.plist ~/
in Terminal window. This solved my problem. |

I have the same problem.
Coreaudiod is running and using all the memory and slows down the whole system.
I am not familiar with the terminal application
I type the commando followed by enter and then the password.
Then the program returns with this
usage: mv [-f | -i | -n] [-v] source target
mv [-f | -i | -n] [-v] source … directory
can you tell me what to do?
If I stop with manually the coreaudiod then the performance is good again.
But the process starts every time again.

If you have access to your system with mouse and GUI try just moving the file like that, It should do the trick.
BTW, after many days using snow Leopard without coreaudiod file,
looks to me that that file is completely useless, and in my opinion you can also Trash it. (moving is just for bkup*)
