It’s called microblogging,
it’s a new way of social networking that is not so new: Twitter is online since march 21st 2006
Posts are very limited, you can post only a certain ammount of text and this is pretty much all you can say about it.
I personnally never understood what was the idea behing it. First i’m already tweeting on my Facebook status! why should i have another account for my friends? Twitter allows to be less exposed as you usually have all of your data in facebook…

There are several other microblogging sites, the one i prefer is Jaiku
Why? because Google owns it. (maybe one day I’ll regret my support to Google-_-’)
They didn’t put money in it, but if they did i think they could easily beat twitter…

Secondly, a study made by the Oxford University found that most of the posts are “boring”: “working,” “home,” “work,” “lunch,” and “sleeping” are most commonly used words -on Jaiku-!!
