Got my two past days using all of my free time for setting up “my perfect iPhone”.
Recieved a 3GS 32gb last Friday. and fortunately on saturday, the Dev-Team was releasing the PwnageTool 3.1.3
What is PwnageTool?: it allows you to creeate a custom firmware package to upload to your phone, which allows you to “jailbreak” your iPhone. Basically, without it you’re limited to Apple’s paying soft, withi it you can be a Geek
. Unlocking wasn’t useful for me as i am already able to get on my carrier. 3GS still can’t be unlocked for the moment.
Ok now, when you install an iPhone with PwnageTool, it boots with a little app inside similar to appstore, but free (most of it, what a surprise they also sell some apps!!)
it’s named Cydia. basically it’s a package manager (Linux world vocabulary).
here is what i installed from Cydia. (removed a lot of unusefull apps.)
Command for getting to list installed packages:
Installed several apps, and modded several others not working with 3.0 (like Status notifier you see on 1st pic – made background become all black, wasn’t showing number of items…)
some are really simple to get on the iPhone, some get really complicated.
Extreme theming: google “iNav”
I’ll post an article later for the iNav theme and the integrated Status Notifier
if you need some infos, don’t hesitate, if you know why i can’t get a custom battery charging lock screen to display, don’t hesitate even
